Inspired by popular Indian deities these clay dolls are crafted by a handful of artisans from Jaynagar. Lakkhi Pencha is believed to be the rider of Goddess Lakshmi and that is why it has got a ritual significance during Lakshmi puja.
What gives this doll its unique appeal is the rounded shape, use of simple colours and casual brush strokes. It is art and culture at its raw best.
